28 August 2023 – The Kullilli Bulloo River Aboriginal Corporation, the native title holders of land in far South West Queensland, have acquired Thargomindah Station.

The 47,100 hectare pastoral property is adjacent to the Thargomindah township, approximately 1000 kilometres west of Brisbane, and lies within the Kullilli people’s native title lands.

The Board of Directors are extremely proud to make this announcement which is a significant achievement for our corporation and one that strongly aligns with our aims and strategic goals to maximise the social, cultural and economic aspirations of Kullilli People.

Thargomindah Station

This acquisition will provide a strong foundation for our growth and success and will enable the Kullilli people to get back on  Country and directly manage a portion of their native title lands. This is a fantastic opportunity for Kullilli people and we are excited for the future, and the impact this will have for our people now and for many generations to come.

Despite past acts that saw the removal of Kullilli People from country, this will allow us to fully enjoy and express our cultural and spiritual connection to the land.  Giving us the ability to innovate how we connect to country and heal our spirits now and into the future.

We look forward to progressing the future of all Kullilli People.
